WELCOME TO

SWANNINGTON ESTATE

Our small piece of Norfolk comprises a picturesque Manor House in a parkland setting, extensive gardens, grazing land, woodland, water meadows, streams and ponds.

The Manor house dates from circa 1650 and contains some noteworthy wooden carvings and numerous medieval stained glass windows facing east which were collected by Edward Bardell during the 19th century. As with all old houses alterations have been made over the years the most significant being in 1860 with an increase in size incorporating five Dutch gables to the rear and the unusual overhanging eves.

The locally well-known gardens are reputed to be the most romantic in Norfolk and include a spectacular 300 year old yew hedge. The surrounding countryside is unspoilt and full of natural wildlife.

A herd of traditional British White Cattle graze the fields.

Swannington is a small peaceful village 10 miles north west of the city of Norwich.

Two holiday properties are available.
